it’s sad when all tina fey has to do is read a transcript to make fun of you
i just read this over on cnn.com regarding recent criticism of sarah palin and my jaw dropped:
In defense, Republicans say the complaints are coming from “intellectual” conservatives — not Main Street Republicans, who they insist love the “hockey mom,” from Alaska, as Palin describes herself.
“These are the folks that really have responded to the candidacy of a McCain-Palin ticket. These are the folks that are showing up in huge numbers, tens of thousands, to the rallies,” Leslie Sanchez, a CNN political contributor, said.
intellectuals?! we don’t need no stinkin intellectuals with their “education” and “insight” and “critical thinking” and what not. we’re the republican party. take your fancy-ass, jew-learning back to new york where it come from, ya’ hear? go marry a book, queers.

LOL @ jew-learning.
as you know, i am no friend of republicans in any way, shape, or form (OK, unless they happen to be Luke Jonkman). but that said, i think there is a distinction to be made between the more scholarly milton friedman-ites and the “reagan democrats”.
that is the failure of the left: the inability to appeal to, or be able to defeat in a debate, the fascist/corporate shill buzzwords masquerading as hockey mom lingo. until the left can come up with someone who is not equally corporate as the right, and who actually calls the right out on their bullshit, we can expect these socially conservative yet working/middle class voters to not have a reason to give a shit about the dems.
