“oh! no! robots!”
you may have heard that skelletones, a grand rapids institution for almost 8 years, is closing in january. while this is sad for many (myself included) who cut their teeth at this little venue that could, there’s still one last chance to act like the 16-year-old within and celebrate a cool little spot that meant a lot to many. january 16-18, 2008 is the skelletones farewell weekend, featuring 30 bands over three nights. some of them are bands you know. one you might not is my un-ironic high school band, analogous angst. here’s a picture from our first ever show at skelletones from june 2001. not pictured: rei robinson and pete rossman. we added them later.

i think i still have that shirt. get your tickets now, as i’m sure they’ll sell out soon.

I totally planned my GR visit to coincide with this glorious event. What night is AA playing?
not sure yet – either thursday the 15th (which is included in the ticket price) or sunday the 18th. should know form sean soon!
So here I am, perching atop an electric radiator in a cold warehouse full of antiques in the Windy City, day 4 of a 10 day master cleanse, bored because no one is leaving their apartments to collect props in -20 degree temperatures. Its colder than is lawful in my place of business, so I have decided to not do much work. Its also Friday, so I have to stick around to write myself a paycheck, but in the meantime, I googled “analogous angst” in hopes of reliving some sort of high school scene to mess with my spirits. I came here. And then everything crashed to the floor, learning that skelletones was closing (probably literally, because I always end up hooking my foot into the mouse cord and making it fall down, usually when I am trying to act responsible). I opened for you guys a long long time ago in a land far away at that place, but I suppose all good things must explode into bits and get lodged in the bum of history.
i think i remember you. amanda’s friend right?
Sean,
May we use this photo in our documentary?
