Let me share...

I am a middle school English teacher. I was able to avoide the Twilight epidemic for about a year. Then I caved. I read; I watched.

Yes, I got sucked into the books. Some of them, anyway. But your low quality observation of the movie is the same way I felt about the books. There is A LOT of bad writing in it. It felt like reality tv. It's a lot of crap, but you just have to keep watching!

Ditto the movie comments. It sucked, was poorly made and chincy.

As for abuse, I am a Jacob girl all the way. He had real emotions, and he was the only character to have any real growth. I'm not sure how abusive I found Edward, but I did find him kind of uninteresting and mellodramatic. Bella was just plain boring until the last book.

Thanks for listening. That felt good to say.
